The Shallows
(Satellite)
The Shallows
You wouldn’t think it would weigh this much
Other guys you might like to touch
That someone else might feel the wave of your hair
It’s so unfair
It’s so much better here at school
Where we all live this golden rule
It’s a face everyone wants you to see
But not me
It grabs me close
Sometimes when I’m alone
And drags me down
Into the shallows
It’s too easy to disappear
Becoming partly atmosphere
And take up living with this neighboring fear
That’s always here
